Nepenthes lowii (Mt. Trusmadi) FV-108-IC

 20 €
One of the most unusally shaped pitchers in the genus are produced by the iconic N. lowii, known to occur on a number of different mountains throughout Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo. Uppers are funnel-shaped, perfectly designed for the species' mutualistic relationship with a mountain tree shrew in which the plant exchanges a sugary-sweet exudate in exchange for the shrews' nitrogen-rich excrements. Offered are individual clones from seeds horticulturally produced by Klaus Keller in Germany. Cross-pollination with other species cannot be ruled out.
Pictured plants are potted in a 7 x 7 cm pot for reference. Sizes may vary slightly.
